Historia del Ballet
The history of ballet as such begins in Renaissance Italy in the 15th and 16th centuries.
With the entry of Catherine de 'Medici (Caterina de' Medici), an Italian nobleman, at the court of France as the wife of the French King Henry II in 1533, the Ballet expanded to France .
One of the key dates is considered 1581, with the staging of the Queen's Comic Ballet, which is considered the starting point of the history of the Ballet. On the occasion of the Duke of Joyeuse's weddings with Margaret of Lorraine, sister-in-law of King Henry III of France, the Queen Mother Catherine de 'Medici ordered to celebrate a pompous show, which was given by Balthazar de Beaujoyeulx (Baldassarino de Belgioioso composer and choreographer French of Italian origin)
